Anastasia preview/test run!!!

Featured Princess of the Week: ohmydisney aka Ashton

Ashton says:While every princess must be gentle, kind, and know how to rock a dress, I’ve learned from 17 years of watching Disney movies that the most important quality is to be yourself. Now, as you can see from the picture I selected I’m a bit odd. I don’t like to flow with the crowd (hello, I have a Disney blog) and I choose I just embrace what I’ve been handed. Take Belle for example, a personal favorite of mine. Belle didn’t care that people thought she was weird for liking books, or if they thought her father was crazy (well she cared a bit, I mean come on Belle’s got to stand up for her old man!). There was no denying she was a funny girl that Belle, but she loved who she was and where she came from. Speaking from the point of view of a bullying survivor, Belle is a real role model. People can be really mean and cruel when it comes to picking on the sore thumb of the crowd. So Belle naturally shows that not only that by being yourself you grow stringer, but you also break the curse on the prince and live happily every after.  She embraces the entire princess package of being kind, smart, confident, and she obviously knows how to rock out a yellow ball gown.

I will feature a different Tumblr princess (girl or boy) every Monday! To see how you can enter to be featured, please check out this link!

Take a trip to my childhood… the “Cinderella” I grew up watching! (Not because I’m that old, it was one of my mom’s favorites! lol).

Featured Princess of the Week: thelastlemonadebender aka Kenzie

Kenzie says: “From what Disney has taught me, anyone can WANT to be a princess, but it’s a whole lot more than just dresses and etiquette! It takes a special kind of devotion and responsibility! Kindess, patience, positiveness, all are important and vital to a princesses success. In my opinion, however, the most IMPORTANT quality is equality. People come from all walks of life, and princesses are admired by many people. She should never judge anyone. When someone looks up to you, you should treat them with equal admiration. While royal rankings are important, equality is key. My favorite Disney princess is Cinderella FOR that reason! She came from a humble background. A dish maid! A servant in her own home, she kept her head held high and even when she became a princess, she was never rude to her step family, and never boastful. She saw herself as just a regular girl experiencing a miracle first hand. I hope you can agree!”

Cinderella art coming up for you, Kenzie! It seemed only appropriate to feature a Cinderella fan today!

I have decided to begin featuring a different Tumblr princess (girl or boy) every week! To see how you can enter to be featured, please check out this link!

Today is Feature Day!

Once a week I will be featuring a different Tumblr Princess (boy or girl) each week on my Tumblr.

In order to be entered for a feature you must reblog this post with a picture of yourself (or link to a picture of yourself) and what you believe is the most important quality of a princess (kindness, happiness, good shoes… etc). You should also list your favorite Disney (or other movie/musical - ex. Odette, Anastasia) princess so I can blog a gorgeous piece of art for you!

I’ll select and feature a different Princess every Monday at 10:00pm EST.

No need to reblog multiple times, I will look at EVERY entry! You also do NOT have to follow me, though I confess if I was torn between two entries, one who follows and one who doesn’t, I’d choose the follower. Gotta love followers. :)

Anyone who reblogged the National Princess Week post is still being considered for a feature and does not need to reblog this post!

I got this e-mail the other day from a woman wanting to know if The Real Princesses (“my” princess party “company”) still does private events, because she wants to hire Cinderella for her 4 year old’s b-day party. I let her know that we do and that a Cinderella was available for the date she’s interested in.

She wrote back: “I am trying to arrange for a horse and carriage, but haven’t gotten that finalized yet. If that works out, I was thinking that she could arrive in that.”

HOLY COW. That is SO legit! We’re just this small band of local theater girls… we bring a boombox and paper tiaras. I’m now feeling like we are so NOT what this woman is looking for. But I’m SO excited, my friend Melissa is going to be Cinderella and I’m so excited FOR her!

Second Featured Princess of the Week: highkingpetermagnificent aka Lynna

Lynna says: “I think the most important quality of a princess is kindness.  A princess could be unkind to everybody and probably wouldn’t have as many people to answer to, due to her elevated rank.  But I think that she should be especially nice to people just for that reason. A princess should be a person someone looks up to and is friends with.”

Jasmine art coming up for you Lynna!

In order to celebrate National Princess Week I will be featuring a princess every day this week! To see how you can enter to be featured, please check out this link!
