So who am I and why am I a princess obsessed obsessed princess?

Well obviously I’m not really a princess, but I am named Sarah- which derives from the Hebrew name meaning “princess.” I have always loved Disney Princesses (like most girls I know) especially Belle and Jasmine. Oddly enough I never actually owned the Cinderella or Little Mermaid video… weird I know.

I do a lot of community theater but I’ve never actually gotten to be one of the princesses. In fact I lost the role of Jasmine on my 16th birthday and the role of Belle the following year: my senior year of high school (to a girl who had never worked with the company before) because the music director told the director I was only a junior and could get a lead role the next year (GAH!… I’m almost over that incident now…almost). Anyway, while working with that theater company I came up with this idea to have a Princess Tea Party show, just with lots of music and monologues by all the best Princesses in movies and musicals. But that director shot it down like all my auditions for her… So I switched companies, got a lead role, and suggested the show to them. We’ve been doing “A Princess Tea Party” ever since!

It’s just a fun little show that I wrote the monologues for and arranged. The show currently has 9 princesses from various movies and musicals. And I get my princess fix once a year (the show is put on each summer). We’re a non-profit theater company and the show is cheap to produce and very popular with local families. It also helps even out our budget for the season. We also occasionally get asked to show up at birthday parties which is even more fun because I usually get to step in as a princess for those (instead of directing which I do for the big show).

I also do a lot of Princess related art as you’ll see if you check out my DeviantArt: http://durnesque.deviantart.com/

I don’t know that I’ll ever get to be a real Disney Princess, but I could line up an audition for them through my theatre professor at school  I am in the process of auditioning for DISNEY! (See my audition pages for details). It’s one of those tempting showbiz offers… But for now I love performing when I can and making lots of princess art. I’m currently working on casting for “A Princess Tea Party” 2011. You’ll see the cast here when I’m finished!

So if you stick around (aka follow me) you’ll get lots of princess stuff with probably some musicals, poetry, and other nonsense thrown in.

About the art I post:

Most of what I’ve been posting comes from DeviantArt. I will NEVER post without including the links to the page of the picture and artist. If I ever do, please let me know and I will correct the problem.

If your art appears on my tumblr and you wish to have it taken down, please just let me know and I will with my apologies.

The art I’ve been sharing is some of the best, cutest, and most beautiful (princess) art I’ve found on DeviantArt - or my own :P. If you have a DA, go to these artists and fave and comment! They deserve it!

What you can expect to see blogged:

Mostly Disney princess or other princess art, cosplay, and related posts of interest. Please note though that this blog also functions as my personal, but I wanted a more interesting general theme aside from myself. I am prone to occasional vents and miscellaneous theater posts. I keep personal and unrelated (to Princesses) posts to a minimum and hopefully you’ll find the ones I do post interesting or at least unbothersome.

Do I follow back?

Not usually, because I’m trying to keep my dash fueled with just the best princess-related goodness, but I try to check out every follower’s page eventually and follow the ones that most intrigue me. I will happily check out anyone’s page who drops a line to me in my ask. And please, feel free to ask anything you feel like!
